Dr Ray Heath, Associate Consultant

In virtually all of his professional life, Ray Heath has held leadership roles in student affairs work at independent universities. A graduate of Providence College, he earned a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and completed further study at the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University. Ray was the Dean of Freshmen at Ohio Wesleyan University, Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs at La Salle University and Vice President for Student Life and Associate Professor of Education at Marywood University.

His expertise includes student affairs program audits at the secondary and collegiate level, strategic planning and recruitment and mentoring of administrators. Consultations ranging from overall program assessments to reviews of specific issues related to athletics, housing/residence life, campus ministry, career services and similar areas have been completed. He’s also written numerous articles and grant proposals, presented at professional conferences and served on several accreditation evaluation teams of the Middles States Commission on Higher Education.

Dr. Heath’s professional activity included involvement in several organizations, particularly NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. A former vice president of NASPA’s Region II and long-term member of the NASPA Journal editorial board, Ray was among the founders of NASPA’s Small Colleges and Universities Institute. Honored with the Ignatian Medal by the Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators, he was inducted as a Pillar of the Profession by the NASPA Foundation and recently received the Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Performance, the organization’s highest honor.
